Beauty blogger Meet-up #LdnXmasMeet

Hi lovelies! First of all apologies for the lack of posts recently. A project at work I have been working on for few months was gearing up and I’ve hardly had time to eat let alone blog ūüôā Now that the holidays are drawing closer I am finally have time again!

I happened to come across a tweet from Ellie from Ellies Ramblings about a London Beauty Blogger meetup and since I am new to the blogging world I thought it was a great opportunity to meet some fellow bloggers! I don’t usually go to events where I don’t know anyone but the beauty blogging community is so lovely and I’m glad I went!

The event was a dinner in Piccadilly Circus in London and was a lot of fun! There were about 20 other bloggers and everyone was so friendly. ¬†Not only did we learn about each others blog and exchange tips but there were also goody bags and prizes to be won! ¬†The other bloggers on my table were: Caroline from Fille de la ville¬†, Lorilee from Lorilee’s London, Becky from Lipgloss and Lashes ¬†and Kimberley from Kimberley’s Beauty Blog.

We also received a lovely goody bag which is a fantastic surprise! ¬†Here’s a quick review from my first impressions:

Mandara Amber Heaven Spa Travel Getaway Bag (£19.50)

I had not come across Mandara before, but it smells absolutely divine. I have been to many high end spas in London and across the world and the smell of these products transported me back to that state of relaxation and tranquility! The Sandalwood and patchouli are particulairy strong giving an aromatherapy experience.

This selection included: Softening Body Cream, Nourishing Hand Cream, Conditioning Shower Cream and Moisturising Bath Essence

Kiss Nail Wrap, Elemis Fresh Skin Exfoliating Face Wash, Nourish Golden Glow Illuminating Face Shimmer and Nourish Argan Skin renew.

There was also a competition and I won a scaredoo which I had never seen before! It is like a Tangle Teezer but even better it’s¬†2-in-1 ¬†– a paddle brush on one side with a de-tangler on the other. This is EXACTLY what I need for the gym so I am very excited to try it out. I will post a review very soon so keep your eyes peeled.

I haven’t tried the Elemis face wash yet, but is definitely a range that I have heard about and want to try. I played around with the Nourish Golden Glow and Argan Skin renew which both seem good quality and lovely. The Golden Glow illuminator is really lovely on my skintone and is true to its word with a lovely golden sheen.

Ellie, Chloe and Perdi did a fantastic job hosting. I am really looking forward to attending more events like these. Have you been to any events like these? xx

Holiday / Christmas Beauty Gift Guide 2013

If its one thing about the holiday season I love, its the array of beauty offerings that all the brands come out with!

There are so many I wanted to include: Urban Decay Naked 3 has no release date yet (although a sales rep told me it will be out a couple of weeks before Christmas eek!) ¬†Nars One Night Stand is SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE! and then there are those that are too damn expensive (I’m looking at you Tom Ford…).

So here we go, here are my top beauty picks which will be well loved by the very lucky recipient…

See more at

1. Nars РCrime of Passion set £35

I absolutely love the pigmentation of Nars products. This set has the perfect colours for day and night and the blushers look beautiful on darker skintones. The matte black packaging screams luxury. What more do you need for £35?! This is a beautiful introduction for anyone new to Nars.

2. Urban Decay Р Vice 2 £42

I bought this a couple of days ago and as soon as I swatched it I knew it would be my new “go to” pallete. The buttery soft, crazily pigmented eyeshadows will last a lifetime. The set includes a good mix of bright shimmery colours and the matte nude colours they are famous for. Considering Urban Decay have release 3 Naked Palletes they are the masters of neutrals!

3. Sleek РBlush by 3 in Lace £9.99

Another one of my favourite products. This is the perfect product for a beauty lover for those on a smaller budget. All of the sets in this line are beautiful but Lace is particularly beautiful on skintones with yellow undertones. The shade in the middle – Gupture – reminds me of Nars Orgasm.

4.  Benefit РSkincare set £12.50

I was surprised that Benefit brought out an affordable skincare line. With 6 products in this set you cant go wrong. We all know good skincare is the foundation of a beautiful base – no amount of foundation or concealer can replicate beautiful glowing skin.

5. Illamasqua РBeauty lesson £50

What to get the person that has everything? How about a lesson with the iconic Illasmasqua? This intensive 2 hour course gives your loved one a gift that will last a lifetime. This is definitely a thoughtful present that will keep you in the good books for a long time

6. MAC РStroke of Midnight Smoky Eye Brush Set £42

This brush set contains some of the essential brushes that are used countless times by experts and you-tubers alike. Although these may not be exactly as their full-sized counterparts, they are still good quality and are key to creating that professional look.

7. Bobbi Brown РTwilight Pallete £59

Bobbi Brown always have the most beautiful holiday sets around. The Twilight Pallete has a outstanding variety of party shades in a compact and portable casing. The shades would suit all ages and has a good mix of glittery and matte shades.

What have you got in mind for your loved ones? Only a few weeks left so better get cracking!

MAC Nocturnals Pigment Review – First thoughts

Today (all three!) MAC Holiday Collections launched both on-line and in store in the UK. This is a big collection and I was lucky enough to grab my hands of the pieces I wanted the most and were the best value.

I will be posting more in depth reviews in the next few days, but to help you decide whether these take your fancy I have posted a few pictures below.

Pigments & Glitter/Green and Teal Р£25.50

MAC Nocturnals Pigment set

MAC Nocturnals Pigment set

The colours included in this set are: Reflects Gold, Old Gold, Glitter in 3D Gold, Deep Blue Green and Just Before Dawn.

The other kits – Silver & Violet and Black & Gold were both beautiful but the chunky texture of the glitters in both of them would just not be used enough to warrant giving up my hard earned cash! I would rather buy two full sized pigments in colours I loved rather then settle.

This kit however had the most soft, blendable and amazing shades! Every shade in this set is wearable (no need to wait for a special occasion) and considering how long lasting pigments are you definitely don’t need to ration usage!

More swatches and in depth reviews to come tomorrow… Including the best MAC Stroke of Midnight Eye kit here!
